Rover Oxford HC host one of the largest youth hockey festivals in the country. Held over two days at the end of the Easter term it is an opportunity for clubs to enter a fun event although the standard at the higher age groups is usually very good.
The format is 7 a side mini hockey for the younger age groups (Under 8/10/12) across half a pitch and nine a side on a full pitch for the older age groups (U14/16). Trophies and certificates are presented to the winners and runners up in each age group.
For club members, the festival weekend is also used to showcase two other important events: On the Friday before we hold the 'Steve Vermeulen Club Night' to remember one of the clubs founders who sadly died in 2003. On the Saturday evening we hold our annual Presentation Evening where the children receive their Stix Awards and the 'Player of the Year' and 'Most Improved Player of the Year' trophies.
